The Senate President, Bukola Saraki, must appear before the
Code of Conduct Tribunal Tomorrow at 10am, to face a 13-count charge of alleged
corruption, the tribunal ruled today.
Saraki who is facing charges bordering on corruption and
false assets declaration, failed to appear before the tribunal during the
sitting, despite an arrest warrant issued against him by the tribunal last
Friday.
The chairman of the Tribunal has however made it mandatory for him to appear tomorrow. We are however not sure if the Senate President will honour the sitting, but the police over the weekend said they did not receive any order on Friday requesting them to arrest Saraki.
Update: The Senate president has released a press statement saying he will be at the Code of Conduct Tribunal tomorrow.
