Leonardo DiCaprio slamed for taking private jet from France to pick up environmental Award in New York

Leonardo DiCaprio has come under fire for taking a private jet to France to pick up an environmental award.

The Hollywood actor flew to New York City from France on Wednesday only to take the plane back to France a day later.
The star was honoured at the River keeper 50th Anniversary Ball for his activism, along with designer Ralph Lauren.
The following day he was back in Cannes to join a host of other stars at the amfAR gala.

One critic shared: "... You have to admit that a private jet leaves a heavier carbon footprint than flying coach."
Another simply branded him a "hypocrite".
