Nigerian Breweries along with Bank of Industry, Sterling Bank Plc,
Guardian Newspaper, Genevieve Magazine, Uber Nigeria, Segun Awolowo's
Nigerian Export Promotion Council have been accused of infringing the
copyright of Internal Pageant & Films (the company that owns Lagos
Fashion Week).
The company is claiming the total sum of N1.7 trillion Naira or $3.5billion dollars against Nigerian Breweries for hosting, staging and performing in public "Heineken Lagos Fashion and Design Week 2015" without paying the company any royalty and without the company's authority.
Nigerian Breweries NB Plc is the principal defendant along with Bank of Industry, Sterling Bank Plc, Guardian Newspaper, Genevieve Magazine, Uber Nigeria, Segun Awolowo's Nigerian Export Promotion Council. The defendants reportedly committed the illegal acts during the regime of President Goodluck Jonathan.
Nigerian Breweries and his co-infringers have been ordered to appear in court on August 2nd, 2016, at 9:00am at Federal High Court 11, Abuja.
