Offensive Kim Kardashian robbery costume pulled from site
The distasteful Halloween costume based on Kim Kardashian's Paris robbery has been pulled from sale after it sparked severe outrage worldwide.Costumeish founder Johnathon Weeks says the backlash was so severe by Tuesday afternoon, it became clear the Parisian Robbery Victim costume wasn't gonna fly. He has yanked it from his
website.
This comes after the site reportedly initially refused to remove the item, but now has agreed to also refund the six people who had bought the costume.
TMZ reports that Weeks says this is the first time they've removed a costume from their online store -- and there have been plenty of borderline tasteless options in the past, including Cecil the Lion and crack-smoking mayor Rob Ford.

Photos: Terrifying moment plane aborts landing and narrowly avoids crashing
A terrifying video of a Boeing aircraft aborting its landing was captured in Prague as the plane went up against some very strong cross winds. Videographer, Radko Nasinec, captured the cringe-worthy footage of the Boeing 737-430 narrowly avoiding a crash as its wheels grazed the runway.The video, which was shot at the Václav Havel Airport in Prague, Czech Republic, shows the passenger plane swaying back and forth and dipping to the right as it was attempting its first landing. In the video below, the plane can been seen descending and preparing for a landing. During the aircraft's descent, the plane rocked from side to side.
As the plane attempted to land, the pilot was forced to pull up quickly because of the large gusts of wind that caused it to sway violently back and forth.

The pilot, who has been hailed a hero, reascended and flew the plane back into the holding pattern in preparation for the second landing.
During the second attempt to land, the plane once again swayed back and forth on its way down, but this time the pilot was able to make a safe landing.

Dramatic photos from the rescue of over 6,500 migrants in the Mediterranean Sea, 13 miles off Libya coasts
Around 6, 500 migrants were rescued on Monday morning, August 29th from more than 40 fishing boats by members of Proactiva Open Arms NGO, Doctors Without Borders, Italian Coast Guard personnel and several partner agencies about 13 miles north of Sabratha, Libya.
The series of rescue mission, which was captured on video shows the desperate migrants, most of them from Eritrea and Somalia, jumping into the water from a crowded wooden boat to swim to the coast guard vessels and others cheering as babies and children are carried on to the rescue ships.
According to AP, the migrants knew the small boats they used to cross the Mediterranean were too weal to make the trip, but left anyway, with the hopes of making it to the rescue boats, which were waiting just about 20 kilometres out of to sea. Among those rescued is a 5-day old and its twin.

Mark Zuckerberg and his wife, Priscilla Chan visited Pope Francis in the Vatican city and gifted him a model of a Facebook drone. He also gave the Pope a book about 'people using the internet in new ways'. The tech CEO said it was something he'll never forget.
'You can feel the Pope's warmth and kindness, and how deeply he cares about helping people,' he wrote on Facebook alongside pictures from the visit.
He said the drone is symbolic of an ideology he and the Pope share.
'We told him how much we admire his message of mercy and tenderness, and how he's found new ways to communicate with people of every faith around the world. We also discussed the importance of connecting people, especially in parts of the world without internet access,' Zuckerberg wrote.
The drone, called Aquila, a solar-powered aircraft the social network plans to use in order to give internet access to people in developing countries.
'Together they spoke about how to use communications technology to alleviate poverty, encourage a culture of encounter, and to communicate a message of hope, especially to the most disadvantaged,' the Vatican Press Office said in a statement.

Photos: Flood ravages some communities in Niger state
Some communities in Niger state have been ravaged by flood following rainfall that lasted well over 24 hours. The rainfall began on Friday August 26th and did not stop until late Saturday August 27th. Many farmlands in the affected communities have been destroyed by the flood. See more photos after the cut.
