According to the ex-president, the action is to show his support for the women and to encourage women to embrace politics. He said in politics, women are more reliable than men and women were not often given the opportunity to exhibit their potential because of cultural and religious inhibitions. He was later presented with a Father of the Nation Award during the visit.
