Nigerians reacts to black Friday scam by our online retail stores (Photos)

Yesterday was Black Friday and Nigerians have been thronging online retail stores since midnight, scrambling for hot deals and price slash they would otherwise not get on a regular day. So far, Nigeria’s top online stores: Jumia, Konga and Deal Dey have been displaying their stock at discounted prices, with most of the goods selling out in just a couple of minutes. However, some customers are already questioning the authenticity of these so-called Black Friday deals. A buyer (who’d rather remain anonymous) says
“I had my eyes on one LCD TV on Jumia, but at 12:05 am, Friday morning, the stock was already sold out! This made me wonder if it was really possible for ALL of that particular product to be sold out in just 5 minutes.” Others are of the opinion that Black Friday in Nigeria is not real because the online stores only reduced prices of “irrelevant” products that people had no interest in buying anyways. Another customer even claimed that a product quoted at N52,999 on one of these websites still maintained that figure as the new slashed price.

Foreign retail websites like Amazon and ASDA ,observed the black Friday  with a steady flow of “traffic” and a wide range of deals.
What do you guys think? Do you believe Black Friday in Nigeria is indeed a scam or are some Nigerians just upset that they couldn’t get what they planned to buy?
Below are snapshots of  how some Nigerians reacted to the Black Friday issue on Twitter:
