I Was A Motor Park Tout – BenueGov-Elect

Benue state governor elect, Chief Samuel Ortom, has disclosed that he was once a motor park tout while still struggling to make ends meet.


Revealing this in an interview with Punch, he ascribed his journey from being a school drop out to the government house as the grace of God.

Ortom whom is a former Minister of State for Industry, Trade and Investment said he dropped out of school in school in form two due to lack of funds.

While being a motor park tout, he said he avoided engaging in crime and remained focused and hardworking.

Recalling his past, he said: “One thing I know is that hard work pays and you must keep faith in God; power belongs to God and He alone gives to whomever he will .”

Samuel Ortom of the All Progressives Congress (APC) won the Benue gubernatorial election with 422,932 votes as against his closest rival fron the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) Terhemen Tarzoor who polled 313,878 votes to emerge runner-up.
