A founding member of PDP, loyalist and a very good friend of the immediate former president of Nigeria, Goodluck Jonathan, Mr. Diekivie Ikiogha has defected to APC from PDP. He defected on Saturday in Bayelsa at the Kpansia open field, Yenagoa, amidst pomp and pageantry.
Ikiogha who has many loyalists defected with them and some other members of the former ruling party. Some members of other political parties, including the All Progressives Grand Alliance, also left with Ikiogha to APC. Among prominent members of the PDP that left with him are Mr. Victor Awala, Mr. Paul Ajuwa, Mrs. D. Irene, Mr. Prince Abeki, a former commissioner and over 150 former councillors from 1999 to 2012.
While addressing the crowd that came to witness his formal movement, Ikiogha described PDP as a party of betrayers.
“There is lack of internal democracy and it is a party where the highest bidders always have their way,” he said.
