BREAKING NEWS: Twin blasts hit market in Gombe, many feared dead

Many people are feared dead after a bomb went off at the Gombe state main market situated along bank road this evening.


The first explosion took place outside a footwear shop around 16:20 GMT, followed by a second explosion just minutes later, said Badamasi Amin, a local trader who counted at least three bodies.

Ali Nasiru, another trader, said he saw “people lying lifeless on the ground”.

The market is always busy while activities heightened on Thursday ahead of the Eid-el-Fitr.
