(Graphic) Woman has acid thrown in her face by her husband in Bangladesh

A wife had acid thrown onto her face by her husband following a row over her dowry.

Jesmin Akter, 23, was admitted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital with severe burns to much of her face and scalp as well other parts of her lower body.

Mail online reports that, Ms Akter is one of 1847 women who have been the victim of an acid attack in Bangladesh between 1999 and 2015.
In 2015 violence for dowry and stalking increased and incidents resulted in the killing of 1,847 women and girls while 301 others committed suicide, according to Bangladesh National Women Lawyer Association.
