Today marks the 63rd anniversary of Queen Elizabeth II's Coronations. It was a wonderful day of pageantry and celebration (despite the heavy rain), but also a solemn religious ceremony which has remained essentially the same for over a thousand years, a statement from the spokesperson reads. During the ceremony, The Queen promised to:
"govern the Peoples of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the Union of South Africa, Pakistan, and Ceylon, and of your Possessions and the other Territories to any of them belonging or pertaining, according to their respective laws and customs...to exercise justice with mercy...and to maintain the Church of England"
