35 FRSC officers killed in the last one year while carrying out official duties

Atleast 35 regular marshals have been killed by motorists on highways across the country in the past one year while on official duties. Seven of them are said to be from Niger State.

State Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, Susan Ajenge, who disclosed this on the floor of the Niger State House of Assembly, said the development occurred when the staff were trying to enforce simple safety regulations.

According to her, another staff recently got knocked down by a driver while trying to clear obstruction on the highway, and presently lying critically in a hospital. She also disclosed he had gone through two operations and might lose his manhood.
