According to court documents filed on Tuesday, Blige cited irreconcilable differences as grounds for divorce and has asked to terminate the court's ability to award spousal support to Isaacs.
A date of separation is still "to be determined," according to the documents (which were first obtained by TMZ).
While the couple have no children together, Blige, 45, has been a stepmother to Kendu's children - Briana, Jordan and Nas, from a former relationship since they wed in 2003.
