He got it from his mama. Twitter is going wild over an old photo of Donald Trump’s late mother, Mary Trump, in which she sports an almost identical hairstyle to that of her son. In the screen grab from a 1997 interview with Australian TV network Foxtel, Mary is seen with an extremely tall and swoopy combover in the exact same shade as the Republican presidential nominee’s famous coif. She’s wearing big gold earrings and a large pearl necklace, and the uncanny family resemblance is undeniable.

The photo resurfaced on social media after Foxtel aired a new documentary, Who Is Donald Trump? earlier this month, which included footage from Mary’s old interview.
“I don’t think the life of a politician would suit him. He’s too used to doing things his way and doing them right,” the former Apprentice star’s mother said in the clip, according to Australian site The New Daily.
According to The New Yorker, Mary was an immigrant from Scotland who moved to New York City. It was there she met builder Frederick Christ “Fred” Trump at a dance. They married and settled in Jamaica, Queens. As her husband’s fortune grew, she became a regular on the New York social scene. Mary died in New York City in 2000 at age 88.
“Looking back, I realize now that I got some of my sense of showmanship from my mother,” Donald wrote in his 1987 book The Art of the Deal. “She always had a flair for the dramatic and grand. She was a very traditional housewife, but she also had a sense of the world beyond her.”
